Anna Camp, Carolyn McCormick & More Join Broadway Cast of Equus

Casting is complete for the forthcoming Broadway revival of Peter Shaffer's Equus, which is set to begin previews at the Broadhurst Theatre on September 5 with an opening set for September 25. Starring Richard Griffiths, Daniel Radcliffe and Kate Mulgrew, Equus will play a strictly limited engagement through February 8, directed by Thea Sharrock.

The rest of the cast includes Anna Camp, Carolyn McCormick, Lorenzo Pisoni, T. Ryder Smith, Graeme Malcolm and Sandra Shipley, along with Collin Baja, Tyrone Jackson, Spencer Liff, Adesola Osakalumi, and Marc Spaulding.

Equus is the story of Alan Strang Radcliffe, a mild-mannered stable boy who blinds six horses in his care. As psychiatrist Martin Dysart Griffiths unravels the mysteries behind the boy's savage act, Dysart realizes he must confront his own demons. Mulgrew plays the compassionate public official who begs Dysart to take on the boy's case.

Camp recently made her Broadway debut in The Country Girl. Her off-Broadway credits include The Scene, columbinus, God Hates the Irish and Flesh and the Desert.

McCormick has appeared on Broadway in The Dinner Party and off-Broadway in Dinner with Friends, Celebration, Eve-olution and Privilegd. On television, she plays Dr. Elizabeth Olivet on Law &Order.

Smith's off-Broadway credits include Dead Man's Cell Phone, She Stoops to Comedy, Lebensraum, King Cowboy Rufus Rules the Universe, The Gods Are Pounding My Head and Underneath the Lintel.

Pisoni appeared on Broadway in Henry IV and off-Broadway in The Devil's Disciple, Election Day, Last Dance, As You Like It, Much Ado About Nothing and Troilus and Cressida.

Malcolm appeared on Broadway in Translations, Aida, The King and I and The Real Thing. His numerous off-Broadway credits include Waste, Aristocrats, Hapgood and Prin. Shipley appeared on Broadway in Pygmalion, Retreat from Moscow, Vincent in Brixton and Indiscretions and off-Broadway in Suddenly Last Summer, Arms and the Man, The Deep Blue Sea, Stuff Happens, Venus and Once Around the City.

Equus is being produced on Broadway by the Shubert Organization, Elizabeth Ireland McCann, Roger Berlind, John Gore, Hirschfeld Productions, Bill Kenwright, Emily Fisher Landau, Arielle Tepper Madover, Chase Mishkin, and Spring Sirkin.
